TrailMate 4WD is a planning and preparation tool. It is not a substitute for proper trip preparation, current local knowledge, or professional mechanical, medical or safety advice.
Estimates are estimates
Fuel consumption, distance, budget and service-interval figures are calculated from the numbers you enter and general assumptions. Real-world conditions — terrain, load, towing, tyre pressures, weather and fuel quality — will change the result. Always carry a comfortable reserve of fuel, water and food.
Checklists are a starting point
Default packing, recovery and maintenance lists are general suggestions. You are responsible for deciding what your trip, vehicle and passengers actually require.
Vehicle and maintenance information
Model, trim and engine data is provided for convenience and may be incomplete or out of date. Always follow your manufacturer’s handbook and a qualified mechanic for servicing intervals and vehicle modifications.
Remote travel
Mobile coverage cannot be relied on. Carry a PLB or satellite communicator, tell someone your route and expected return, check track and park closures with the relevant land manager, obtain required permits, and turn back when conditions exceed your experience or equipment.
User-contributed spots and reviews
Spots, photos, ratings, tips and reviews shared by other users are their own opinions and experiences. We do not verify them. Access, track conditions, fees, permits and closures change constantly, and land may be private, leased, culturally significant or seasonally closed. Always confirm access with the relevant land manager, traditional owners or operator before you head out, and leave no trace when you get there.
Not an emergency service
TrailMate 4WD does not track your location, does not notice if you fail to return, and cannot contact anyone on your behalf. The emergency numbers in the app are shortcuts to your phone dialler only. In an emergency call 000, or 112 from a mobile, or activate your PLB or satellite communicator.
No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrailMate 4WD accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, vehicle damage or costs arising from decisions made using the app. Use your own judgement — the bush doesn’t care what your phone says.
This document is governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
